Dyslexia/SpLD Assessments for 16 – 25 year olds

Our Dyslexia Support Specialists offer diagnostic assessments that include recommendations suited to your needs based on your areas of difficulty.

Full Diagnostic Assessment

A full Dyslexia/SpLD diagnostic assessment looks into all areas of an individual’s cognitive processing and attainment in order to determine if a diagnosis of dyslexia can be given.

Prior to the assessment you will be asked to complete some forms about different areas of your developmental history and your educational history. You will also be asked various questions about what difficulties you feel you are having which have led you to needing an assessment.

The assessments typically take 2-3 hours depending on each individual. We try to keep the assessment process as relaxed as possible, taking regular breaks if needed. Following the assessment, you will receive a full report with the opportunity to talk through any queries or questions further. The full report includes a diagnosis, if appropriate, with an explanation of each area tested and how this fits a dyslexic profile.

The report will also include a full list of recommendations suitable for your situation, such as Exam Access Arrangements, college support, and workplace adjustments.

If there is no diagnosis you will still receive a full report on each area tested so you have a full profile of your strengths and weaknesses with insights into how you learn/work best and if there are any specific areas of difficulty, such as a slow processing speed or memory difficulties. Along with a full list of recommendations.

Additional Information

Our dyslexia assessor holds an APC (Assessors Practicing Certificate). Therefore, all diagnostic reports can be used for DSA (Disabled Students Allowance) purposes.
