Modern Slavery Statement

At The Owl Centre, we are committed to upholding the principles of human rights, dignity, and ethical conduct. We unequivocally condemn the practice of modern slavery in all its forms and are dedicated to preventing its occurrence within our sphere of influence.

Modern slavery is a grave violation of human rights, and it is our moral and ethical responsibility to combat this heinous practice. We firmly believe that every individual, regardless of their background, deserves to live a life free from coercion, exploitation, and forced labour.

To this end, we pledge:

  • Zero Tolerance: We have a zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery and human trafficking in all our operations and supply chains.
Due Diligence: We are committed to conducting thorough due diligence to identify and mitigate the risk of modern slavery within our organization and supply chains. Due to the nature of our business, the size and scope of our external supply chain is mostly limited to professional services therefore the likelihood of modern slavery is small but not zero and therefore we will maintain vigilance within our supply chain.
Supplier Engagement: We work closely with our suppliers, contractors, and business partners to ensure they share our commitment to eradicating modern slavery and adhere to our strict ethical standards.
  • Awareness and Training: We provide training and awareness programs for our employees to recognize the signs of modern slavery and take appropriate action. We use Unseen for training and updates – www.unseenuk.org/modern-slavery-training/
  • Reporting Mechanisms: We have established clear and accessible reporting mechanisms for employees, suppliers, and stakeholders to report any concerns related to modern slavery. Our clinical teams are aware and vigilant to potential victims of modern slavery, and these are reported through our normal safeguarding mechanisms as well as via national mechanisms for the reporting of modern slavery. • Continuous Improvement: We continuously evaluate and improve our anti-slavery measures to stay aligned with international best practices and legislation. When engaging new suppliers we evaluate the risk or potential for Modern Slavery to take place.
  • Collaboration: We actively collaborate with governmental and non-governmental organizations, industry peers, and civil society to collectively combat modern slavery. This is done via updates to safeguarding training and general awareness of campaigns ensuring that our staff receive a broad range of training which includes information about modern slavery.

We recognise that eradicating modern slavery is an ongoing process that requires vigilance, dedication, and collaboration. We are committed to playing our part in this global effort and will work tirelessly to ensure that our organisation remains free from the stain of modern slavery.
